Tap Into the Emerging Wastewater Market With Winters
Rising populations, water
shortages and growing irrigation demands are driving a worldwide wave of
interest in the largely untapped market of wastewater treatment.
Today, over half of all wastewater in
the world is not treated. The rest continues to end up in lakes, rivers
and oceans. Of the wastewater that is treated, only 11 per cent is reused.
Meanwhile, the agricultural sector (the world's largest consumer of
clean water) is facing immense pressure to feed growing populations.
These challenges are fast positioning
wastewater treatment as a viable solution to the world's water woes.
The United States Department of Agriculture, for instance, is looking at
"reclaimed wastewater" as a possible way help sustainably raise American agricultural output by 40 per cent over the next 30 years.
USDA scientists say
agriculture accounts for 80 per cent of all clean water use in the
United States, while only 1 per cent of the world's water is fit for
human consumption. Seasonal droughts across the country put even more
strain on the farming sector.
It is no surprise that the global wastewater treatment market is expected to nearly double in size over the next decade.
Winters' full complement of
pressure and temperature instruments are uniquely positioned to meet
this anticipated growth and interest in wastewater treatment and water
delivery.
From all-stainless steel PFP 4” gauges to Phenolic PPC 4.5” gauges, we have the market covered for local indication. Winters also offers the D81 Series Isolation Ring -
the workhorse of the waste and slurry media being measured. With many
material variants and sizes available, the D81 is the ideal annular seal
for instrument measurement.
We also have an extensive electronics lineup,
offering both smart and analog options. These include our WinSMART™
line, LXP transmitters and WPS series of pressure switches for general
purpose and hazardous areas. Several models are explosion proof, making
them ideal for operating in wastewater environments where flammable
methane gas is present.
Once wastewater is treated, Winters offers a full array of lead-free pressure gauges, thermometers and accessories to help deliver clean drinking water to consumers.
Our lead-free pressure gauges are NSF 61 and 372 certified, which means
they meet many of the international drinking water standards. These
include those set by the US Safe Drinking Water Act, the Canadian National Plumbing Code and the National Sanitation Foundation.
